Good leaders must be good communicators. The Toastmasters CPAC Club is affiliated with Toastmasters International, an organization with clubs in over 80 countries in the world and the goal of helping you become a good communicator and develop your leadership skills.
At our club, you will learn by speaking to and working with other members in a supportive environment. Each new member is assigned to an experienced club member who will act as a mentor to help you to become familiar with the meeting routines and guide you through your first few speaking exercises. Club meetings are held once a week for about two hours.
In the meetings, you will have the opportunities to practice different communication and leadership skills. Club members learn these skills through filling a meeting role, giving a prepared speech, evaluating speeches of fellow members or learning how to run a meeting. There is no instructor or textbooks; instead, members learn from each others. It is a supportive environment as the critiques are always positive and focus on what was done right and what could be improved.
Everyone is welcome to join the meeting as a guest. When you feel this is the right environment for you to grow, you can consider to become a club member.
