Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School, Grade1
Alvin Li is a Grade 12 student studying at Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School. He is one of this year’s recipients of the CPAC Award based on his achievements in his Grade 11 year, where he achieved an average of 97%, and was recognized for having the highest average amongst male students. He started a community project in Grade 9 to help refugee children by donating stationery items, during which he gained essential soft skills to continue his volunteer journey. To focus on his passion for helping others, he volunteered at senior homes and hospitals, where he facilitated conversations between health care professionals and Chinese patients. He later went on to lead school clubs to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation and Hospital for Sick Children, breaking fundraising records. He was fundamental in creating his school’s first Health Conference and SDG ELL Conference, inspiring other students to pursue humanitarian services. He spent the past summer building houses in the Dominican Republic. Currently, he continues his love of learning outside the classroom by working at a pharmacy and a microbiology laboratory. In his free time, he enjoys creating graphics using Photoshop.
