CPAC Joins the TO2015 IGNITE Program

Inspiring its Communities to Ignite the Spirit of the Games with the 12th Summer Festival on June 21

June 2, TORONTO – CPAC is excited to announce its new partnership with the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games through the IGNITE program, which enables individuals, organizations and communities to create their own special Games-themed initiative and/or increase awareness of existing projects through an association with the Games.

IGNITE is generously supporting the 12th CPAC Summer Festival which will be held on June 21 at L’Amoreaux Sports Complex to celebrate TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games and showcase the sports and culture.

The CPAC Summer Festival is pure enjoyment. Join in a variety of games, and entertainment for multi-generational families, various cultural performances, family fun, ethnic food vendors and much, much more. Because this year’s CPAC Summer Festival will showcase Pan American sports, famous athletes will be invited to attend the event to show their skills and share their tips. Also, there is the addition of introducing Caribbean food to the Chinese and multicultural communities. Visitors will be eligible for free giveaways and lucky draws.

In the spirit of IGNITE, CPAC is initiating the festival to celebrate Pan Am/Parapan Am Games with the following highlights:

–        Sports: participate in Pan Am/Parapan Am Games like soccer, basketball, fencing and so on;

–        Food: eat your way round the Caribbean & Asia Pacific;

–        Learn about a sport from a professional Pan Am/Parapan Am athlete. Who is coming? Wait and see;

–        Play games: all children are welcome;

–        Join our flash mob: practice “the little apple” at home first;

–        Practice Taichi with 300 others;

–        Win win win: lots of prizes, discounts and lucky draws;

CPAC will also give recognition gift pack to the first 200 members who arrive.

“It’s great to see the IGNITE program in action,” said TO2015 Fulvio Martinez, Community Outreach and Media Relations Manager of IGNITE, “These are the Peoples’ Games and we want to see entire communities involved in our celebration of sport and culture. We couldn’t be more pleased with this new partnership as it will help us make that happen.”

“CPAC is pleased to be a partner with IGNITE which has supported Summer Festival not only with the introduction of a major athlete but also a generous donation of souvenirs for our participants,” Margaret Yang, President of CPAC, said at the press conference.
